How The Mind Controls Us

Isn’t it interesting how we can continue to listen to the mind and it’s the mind that continues to cause all of our problems?

Isn’t it interesting how we think we change our minds? Yet, how often does and has the mind changed us?

Isn’t it interesting how we think we have thoughts yet the thoughts have us. Aren’t our problems of our own making? And who is the orchestrator of our problems? Our thinking mind.

Until we are guided by an awakened spirit this situation is how we will operate for good. One must take stock of this situation but the grim reality that we are to blame all too often for own drama is not easy to consider and the ego wants no part of it.

Here is something written by Eckhart Tolle which really resonates with me.

“…a state of enlightenment is attainable here and now. It is possible to live free of suffering, free of anxiety and neurosis. To do this, we have to come to understand our role as the creator of our pain; our own mind causes our problems, not other people, not the ‘world out there.’

It is our mind, with its nearly constant stream of thoughts, thinking about the past, worrying about the future. We make the great mistake of identifying with our mind, thinking that’s who we are-when in fact, we are far greater beings.”

How free do we want to be?
