As the holidays approach, it can be more challenging for those on the recovery journey. However, it’s very possible to be safe and sober. Below are 3 tips to help you celebrate Halloween.

  1. Be sure of what you are consuming.
You might not know what ingredients are in the items at a gathering. If you are not sure, bring your own drink or ask your host. Better safe than sorry.
  2. Get your supporters around you.
One of the best things to do is to tap Into your support system. If possible, go to a 12-step fellowship meeting. Spend time with people who understand and support your recovery journey.
  3. Set a cut-off time
Ending a night on time can help you stay on your recovery journey. When you stay late, you may be more tired and more likely to engage in temptations you wouldn’t normally.
